The cat is actually a demon, cursed and trapped in a form he considers far beneath his true self. Stripped of most of his original powers, he roams the mortal world in search of his scythe—a relic that holds a bit of his power. However, the scythe was left in the care of his half-mortal son, whom the demon abandoned to be raised by his human mother.

Unaware of his father’s true identity, the son reluctantly agrees to help the mysterious cat on his quest to reclaim the scythe. Along the way, the pair must confront formidable enemies—other beings who have claimed fragments of the demon’s power during his absence.
